Restaurant in Paris: Le Petit Cler. In the 7th arrondissement, a little bit off the beaten path is this most charming little super typical French cafe. Impeccable service, delightful, and well, just typical. It’s nothing special and yet everything is special. What can I say. Let’s just say I went there twice my last time in Paris.
I’ve made the galette 3 times and all 3 times it got rave reviews, even from a gaggle of picky French ladies! In Paris, head to the 19th or 20th arrondissements to eat at Buttes, Cheval d’Or, have a drink at Combat or Kiss Proof, and drink coffee at Mardi or Candle Kids.
"I really do love to analyze, critique and praise (my three love languages)" — I couldn't have said it better myself! And yes, if you've worked in the restaurant industry, this trait becomes deeply embedded in you. Personally, it is my favorite thing to do just about anywhere, but in restaurants, it's game on. I find myself silently commenting "impressive carry" to runners and bussers stacking plates high on their arm, utilizing every finger and ligament of their hand. Other times, I'm rearranging the table set with my eyes knowing exactly where to place each dish to fit perfectly and having to fix it myself because I know it could be improved. These are my best and worst traits, but that's the effect of working in food service🙃
coqodaq is even better than you made it sound (which was good enough to warrant investigating). The fried chicken (and much else on the menu) is GLUTEN-FREE!!
I need this galette in my life. Soon. It will make March worth it. <3 <3 <3

Paris rec: I loved Café de la Nouvelle Mairie and really wanted to go to Marché des Enfants Rouges.
Paris: Bistrot Instinct in the 3rd arrondissement. Best meal of my life!

Paris restaurants often seem to disappoint but I LOVED Parcelles. Tiny & charming, the food was delicious and the service was impeccable.
Paris restaurant:
L’ange 20. Small, perfect neighborhood Bistro. Marais I think.
Always inspiring. Galette seems the perfect bridge to Spring. Can’t wait.🙏
LA foods I have loved lately:
SAFFYS: Everything, especially the gem salad, lobster skewer (smoky & herby it’s insane), and pork skewer
ETRA: The chicories salad and the scampi are serious. The hype is real.
LA DOLCE VITA: The best martini I have had in LA, fantastic pasta, a Jeff Goldblum sighting
ORIGIN KBBQ: Excellent food across the board, and they actually take reservations
CENTO: Lamb meatballs, spicy pomodoro pasta, banana tiramisu (!!!)
JYAN ISAAC: IMO the least obnoxious amid the current LA bagel craze and you can/should also get a perfect loaf of bread to go
For LA, echo the Etra love in here already!
I just had one of the best croissants of my life at CAR Artisan Chocolates in Pasadena -- a good re-acclimation to the states post Paris!
Shin's Pizza is my new favorite slice in LA -- but you live in NY, so...
Also went back to classic Bavel this week, and it never disappoints.
Nor does Musso's which I took my dad too for the first time, and he loved, but we already know you're the queen of Musso's when you're home.
Mini Kabob crew's Mideast Tacos is getting a lot of love, but I have not yet braved the lines.
Nico's is a very cute new wine bar in Atwater.
I have made this several times!! Always amazing! Probably my favorite from Sweet Enough! Thank you!!!
Paris: I think you will like Bofinger for lunch. My born and bred Parisian friends recommended it. It’s 100% Emily in Paris free.
Are you speaking in Paris?
Authentic Szechuan (Tofu of 5th Ave) forever and ever and ever. Chong qing chicken should not travel as well as their does but it hits every time!!!
