Just bought the Sezane sweater you linked, in two colors and sizes, thanks to you! I’m also six months pregnant and loathe maternity clothes with a passion. I can’t wait to try this one! I’ll also be 39 when my child is born, and it’s my first as well. I’ve really enjoyed seeing you document your pregnancy style ever since you announced it. You continue to inspire sartorially, not to mention in the kitchen as well! Thanks again.

My Election Day plans include voting, putting my phone in a drawer, finally making the Caramelized Shallot Pasta, and watching the movie Election. Will tune into returns another day.

I can't wait for pregnant Alison Thanksgiving...when I was pregnant it was less precision and more dialing up of the yummy stuff..(more olive oil, more butter, more cheese...more dill? ) More really IS More. LFG

love this Alison. this year has been a lot for my family so Our Best this thanksgiving may also "just" involve anchovies, some sort of cracker and a hard, salty cheese. it will be perfect. can you share your lupini recipe please?

✨already voted✨ and approve of the “just do our best” and “serve snacks for dinner” mindset

I wasn't really looking forward to Thanksgiving this year (I am the opposite of pregnant, it's empty nest time here) until I decided to rebrand it as Food Day. There will be snacks and wine and your tall quiche and whatever else we want and now it sounds great and I can't wait.

Wendy and I just back from a long day of canvassing for Colin Allred who is running for the US Senate in Texas against Ted Cruz. I opened this post and happily read what I found to be some of Alison’s best writing! Thanks for your leadership Alison!

You're not wrong when you say we're entering a stressful week. I can't remember the last time I felt this anxious over an election. I hope it goes the way it should. Your new baby should grow up in an America we've all been blessed with. I would also like to continue living in it. I've never considered moving to another country as much as I have the past year. Weird. Mass emigration? Who'd ever think contemplating that as an option?

Cooking is usually my solace; it's my Zen time, or passion project, but right now not feeling any of it. The joie de vivre is on hold involuntarily. Haven't even given T-day a passing thought.

Sorry if I'm giving Downer Dan vibes. Trying hard not to. This is a moment when things like friend's company, or a good distracting, happy movie, your newsletter or your videos make a big difference. For what you do, I thank you.

On the positive side, if things go well next week, I'll have a month of T-days. Here's to hope. Please, everyone vote. Make the right choice. Let's do this! ,LA ,LA ,LA

Stop worrying about paint colors for new apartment. Next time you’re visiting a friend’s house and really like a wall color, ask!! Much better than paint wheels or chips.

Happy new baby. Happy happy Alison

As the (lucky as hell) stay at home dad/former cook/yada yada of a 15 month old while also being addicted to throwing dinner parties that stretch my sanity to the brink, I really needed this.
