It makes me happy that a hot dog party is a thing. Hey, if hot dogs were good enough for FDR to serve to the King and Queen (actually, the Queen was a bit appalled), they're good enough for me and my mates. Alison, I am NOT a flatterer, but I bet you won't mind my saying that I look forward to your recipes (well, except clams, and anchovies) and your cheery emails every week. Doing this for my birthday. <3
just need you to know -- i'm a therapist trying to help others in the still literal nightmare pandemic working in my very small home (still, forever), and THESE VIDEOS ARE SUCH A JOY IN MY SOMETIMES DIFFICULT, TIME-IS-A-CIRCLE WEEK <3 <3 <3 thank you.
Happy Birthday Alison hope you have the best day and year ahead :) You've just inspired me to host a hot dog party for my upcoming Bday too. Thank you for sharing your recipes with us :) All of them are a true Chef's kiss
Happy Birthday, Alison! Honestly, is there anything better than a grilled hot dog in the summer? Heaven. I'm on your side with the mayo thing. Love the stuff but it has no place on my hot dog.
Here in the south, slaw dogs are a very popular thing! When I say slaw, it’s the finely grated/ground green cabbage with Mayo, sugar, pickle juice (I prefer Wickles juice). I’m not a fan of straight Mayo on my hotdog but put a nice spoonful of this slaw over my hotdog and I’m a supremely happy girl. This slaw is also great with fried catfish, pulled pork sandwiches, or just plain cornbread and sliced tomato. Also divine when you have a mouthful of slaw and hush puppies in one bite! Forgive me…I just had a love affair with a bowl of coleslaw. But seriously…Alison…you should do a Southern Fish Fry Home Movies episode! I’ll let you borrow my Daddy’s Vietnam era Coleman fish fryer. Whole fried catfish, homemade French fries and hush puppies, coleslaw, tartar sauce, lemons, sweet tea, cold beer! We could also have raw and steamed oysters to snack on while we cook! Mi casa es su casa for this episode!
Come to mama

Happy 36th Alison (tomorrow)!
Although you say you don't have any plans, I hope you still have a great day.
I for one (and I know there are plenty others) am very happy that you are alive.
Thank your parents from me!
