I have a dumb question about jars of capers I've been meaning to ask you. Do you put water back in it after you use some? I can't get any capers out without dumping all the liquid out of the jar, but I don't always use all of the capers. I assume adding water and putting the jar in the fridge is okay.
Can't wait to try this lemon peppery tuna salad salad. Thanks!
One of the reasons I love your recipes is your disdain for mayo except in tuna salad! I am literally the same.
One tip I got from my stepdad is to really dry the tuna. I guess if you are getting fancy tunas you might want more of the oil or flavour of what it is packed in, but if you are getting "regular tuna" in water, after draining the open can, I will put the whole bunch of tuna into paper towels or tea towels and press the heck out if it until the paper is dry.
This makes for tuna that is much better able to receive a lot of ingredients (like all the little nibbles that we love so much) or added liquid like lemon juice. In a salad-salad it matters less but on a sandwich it keeps it from being runny or wet. Mmmmmm I can't wait to make your recipe here!
This is also delicious with smashed chick peas instead of fish, for a vegetarian twist!
Damn that's a good idea 🙏
Hi Ms. Roman, Thank you for such a delicious looking recipe.
Have you tried Kewpie mayonnaise? I like mayonnaise and use it often. To my taste, Kewpie is the best commercial mayonnaise I’ve had.
Yours,
Ellen
Dukes mayo, y'all

I thought that was just me!!! 😂
Yeah. I welcome answers from anyone :)
I strain with a tea strainer and put the liquid back. Those little jars are a pain.
I use a mini fork or spoon to get them out, so the brine stays in
shopping mini forks now...
I'm just sad that I already ate lunch today because OMG so much this! I can't wait to try it.
And boiled eggs! And sometimes, toasted walnuts!
Thanks for the great recipe and the tuna recommendations....I love sound of the smoked tuna!
Great tuna salad recipe. We like to add a medium boiled egg (which I guess makes it a hybrid tuna/egg salad…. but mostly tuna)

Will add lemon zest the next time I make tuna salad. It will add that brightness that has been missing. Thanks, Alison.
Real ones know you used mayonnaise in your cornbread recipe tho.
I thought I never liked tuna salad, but I thought I'd give this a whirl... and I loved it!!
Tuna salad, four times in eight days. I can't get enough! It is so bright and light and lemony and dilly and refreshing!
