I am a mustard fiend (currently have six in my fridge and a specialty garlic mustard in my cupboard) and I implore you to get your hands on Weber's Horseradish Mustard which is based out of Buffalo. I live in Toronto and before the pandemic would regularly drive down there to get my fix (fortunately I had massively stocked up last Christmas). You might be able to find it in NYC. You will never look back. Literally just subscribed to preach the Weber's gospel to you.

What’s your stance on Colman’s?

Also, never settle for the ham sandwich.

Alison I just want to say that your writing makes me want to write more, and write better, and write better more.

I'm sure there are sadder songs than this, but Dolly wrote a beauty in "Down From Dover":

The next time you’re at Union Market, might I suggest some Edmond Fallot moutarde de Dijon? If you’re a Maille fan, I think you’ll like it.

I’m new here but my response to mustard in all it’s forms and glory makes me happy. If not for mustard, where would we go for the perfect condiment for almost anything?

LOL oh my poor mom packed my three sisters and I in our blue 90's mini van with the wooden doors for a day trip to the mustard museum - good ol' Wisconsin summers.

Also, can we please add watch the 4K version LOTR to our list of quarantine activities?

Also also, you are the best. And this newsletter is super fun. Thank you (and fellow newsletter folks) for being so rad. That is all.

As a "Foodie Fan Follower' since way back in the "old" days, I swear I lost count on how often you mentioned your Ham and it's Party. What I am really wishing was included with your 'favorite mustards' is the aforementioned Ham recipe. Checked your books - doesn't exist. I am hoping this is a Fresh Ham, and not some supermarket pre-cooked number. (The first pic in kitchen looks fresh, but the butcher picture looks cured).

However, it may just be wishful thinking after seeing all the references going back to 2014. (BA: "Throw a Ham Party! Buy a Precooked, Smoked Ham, score it, glaze it with some personal ingredients (sweet, spicy, maybe liquor-y, your glaze - really? - made with Starbucks coffee), heat and serve with Martin's Potato rolls, mustards and pickles. Then just leave out a carving set for the guests"). Sounds familiar?

Maybe, just maybe, since you're Alison Roman, your recipe is something more magical, and we will learn about it in one of your future videos or newsletters.
