Congratulations on your new show! Can't wait! Can't wait to try this soup recipe too. It reminds me a bit of the Polish cabbage soup, where we mix fresh cabbage and sauerkraut for the acidity. Love the idea of the beans in it! Thank you!

That soup is called kapusta. and my motherinlaw was Polish and taught me how to make it. They also put kielbasa and potatoes in it. We all loved it with rye bread.

This soup is called kapu┼Ыniak in Polish (kapusta means cabbage). You are absolutely correct about the sausage in it, but it can be made without (vegetarian option). And yes, rye bread with it is the best (especially Polish rye bread)!

I did not know it is called kapusniak in Polish - my in-laws called it kapusta. I've made it many times, and sometimes was lucky enough to find some real Polish rye bread to go with it. By the way, I just had this bean/cabbage stew for dinner, tonight - it's wonderful!
