Welcome to A Newsletter! Thank you for being here. If you’ve found your way over by some miracle but are not yet subscribed, let me help you with that:
Hello! This email already went out Tuesday to all paid subscribers, so if you’re seeing this twice: sorry (and thank you!).
I am about to dispense several bits of information all of which may interest you if you’re looking for a chance to hear me speak IRL, buy a cool piece of merchandise in support of the book, attend another one of our absolutely FABULOUS Zoom Baking Classes or simply want to know where you can find a signed copy of Sweet Enough. It’s a lot! Read the fine print! Comment with questions and I’ll try to help you navigate this glorious mess of intel!
Here we go:
#1: I am going on a BOOK TOUR, which is a thrill for me since it’s been three whole years since I’ve done any sort of live event and BOY do I love a microphone. While some cities are still being sorted, you can expect an excellent roster of brilliant moderators for each event, including Aminatou Sow, Frankie Gaw, Samantha Irby and Abby Phillip.
Please find all details (dates/times/tickets) for the US leg HERE. If I didn’t get to your city this time around, please know I wish I could go to EVERY city, but things are tight schedule-wise because I simply MUST hop across the pond (London, Amsterdam) and then across an even larger pond (Australia).
Details for events in those cities will trickle out in the coming weeks as things firm up because I am a last minute girlie through and through.
[EDIT: Since this newsletter went out to paid subscribers on Tuesday, several events have already sold out. Some venues have a waitlist, see each venue for more details. If you don’t see your city on this list, it’s not because I didn’t want to go, it’s because there aren’t enough days in the week. Stay tuned for more live events in 2023!]
#2: THERE IS MERCH, LET THERE BE MERCH. And the merch, it is good. See HERE for all the offerings, including the launch of a fake restaurant called Roman’s…Where You’re Sweet Enough.
This limited edition merch is ONLY available through 3/7.
(Yes, there is a real restaurant in Fort Greene called Roman’s, and there is no relation, this is just a joke! A fake restaurant with my last name! Andrew Tarlow if you’re reading this, don’t sue me!). Thank you to the brilliant Christopher Chang for bringing these to life and to Pauline de Roussy de Sales for the cake illustration.
All items come bundled with a book, which counts as a pre-order towards…
#3: If you’re looking for another ZOOM BAKING CLASS, well, I’ve got news: We’re doing “another one”. The last one was such a success and we had such a great time, we couldn’t not do it again.
TLDR; Enter your pre-order information, 300 people will be chosen at random to attend an online class March 20th at 7pm EST. If you entered last time but didn’t get in, you’ll be re-entered this time, too.

#4: If you’re looking for a SIGNED COPY of Sweet Enough but won’t be able to make it to any events, you can pre-order from Books are Magic, Omnivore, Skylight Books or Books and Books. Most ship, so even if there’s not one in your city, you can still shop small.
#5: If you’re an INTERNATIONAL customer (!!!) please find your local retailer at the “International Orders” tab HERE. UK/Australian and Dutch editions available!
I would love to watch the first baking class that I didn’t get into 😩, any chance you filmed it, and we can see it? I love rhubarb (and watching you cook) ! 😆🥰
Hi, Alison! I’m trying to buy tickets for New York; but there seems to be a glitch. Eventbrite says there are a few tickets, but then when you click that it says sold out. Are they sold out?
