Thanks for your transparency on egg freezing! This conversation has come up a lot recently around me, especially this week for some reason, and at 36 is something I'm very on the fence about. This at least is pushing me to contact my gyno for more info!

I’m an old woman now but it warms my frozen, hard heart to hear that you are moving forward with the amazing technology of egg freezing for your future. Oh, and the matzo soup? As with all of your recipes, I’ll be making this. ❤️🥚

Talk to me more about freezing these? Do you just roll them on the sheet pan and freeze them like meatballs? And boil from frozen or thaw first? I'm always halving the recipe but would much rather have them at the ready!

Strangers we are not. We feel like we’ve known you ever since your first cookbook. You are so real in a world of not so real. Thanks.

Complete non sequitur of a comment, but I have to ask if you like Aperol Spritzes? I do, but they always slightly remind me of Triaminic...

YES YES YES I love this newsletter (bangs fists on table). I'm laughing, I'm crying, I'm messing up recipes. Alison Roman for president.

This guy seems to think there is something to the seltzer in the matzo balls: https://www.seriouseats.com/2015/04/how-to-make-the-best-matzo-balls.html

I just froze golf ball size uncooked matzo balls on sheet pan. Should I thaw first before cooking or not?

Btw, this recipe is amazing and made last night for just me. Leftovers a bonus for later. Thank you!

I made this + the brisket from Nothing Fancy and a few of your Passover recipes from NYT from last year. My dad said it was the best Passover dinner he'd had in decades (which offended my mom, with good reason LOL). He even got a little teary-eyed because my parents haven't done a full seder since I left for college. I introduced them to your cookbooks last summer and now we only cook recipes from those whenever we visit one another, so of course, our full menu for the night had to be AR! Anyway, he was very impressed that my broth was so clear and that my matzo balls were not "cannonballs" (I guess his mom made them hard as rocks one year so she never made them again.) I've been eating the leftovers for lunch all week! 10/10!!

I got my first Moderna vaccine yesterday, and my partner has his tomorrow. I've never had matzo ball soup, but it's exactly what I want for a comforting dinner the next couple nights. I had just enough energy to get this soup simmering, and dough (is that the right word?) chilling. Crashing now, but I had to chime in and share how incredible my apartment smells. Can't wait to try it!
